For this project, you will need to introspect and think critically about the theories we have discussed concerning personality and how they relate to you. This project involves critical thinking about yourself, analyzing the theories from the major perspectives on personality and integrating those ideas in describing your own personality development, and reviewing a research article that relate to one of the various theories of personality. This assignment has 4 parts:
1) I want you to give me a detailed description of your own personality, including traits that describe you and motivations that drive you to act. In other words, tell me about yourself, who you really are, and what makes you tick.
2) After your description, I want you to compare and contrast the major perspectives and describe how each of the major personality perspectives could be used to explain how YOUR personality has developed. Give specific examples that would relate to each and then give me your impression of which theories do the best job of explaining your particular personality.
3) Once you have selected the “best” theory for your personality, search and find a peer-reviewed research article that deals with personality characteristic(s) from that perspective. Discuss the results found in the study and evaluate the results and the methods used. You will need to cite the article you found using APA style.
4) Identify a characteristic in your personality that you would like to change. How would the perspective that you selected as “best” for your personality view change? What would need to occur for you to change that characteristic according to that perspective?
