Two new publications must be used as well. The writer can use up to eight sources if necessary. I will upload the publications in the files section of my order.

For the final assignment of the subject Stylistics, you write a paper in which you give a detailed stylistic analysis of an advertisement. The advertisement must contain at least one trope or thought figure. Use Ad Herennium’s six parts to structure your analysis. You do not have to use all six parts, but show where in the advertisement text it is apparent. The analysis should indicate which point of view is defended and which arguments are put forward in support of the point of view. In addition, it should be made clear which classical rhetorical tropes and/or stylistic figures are used in the presentation of the point of view and/or arguments. Clarify the examples you discuss (for example, explain why something is a metaphor and how the metaphor works) and especially pay attention to the question of what effects may be intended by the style figures in question. For the analysis use the insights from the literature discussed during the lectures and refer to this as well.
In the paper you also explain the (theoretical) background of one of the classical rhetorical tropics or stylistic devices that appear in the advertisement. Use the literature that was discussed during the lectures and two new publications.
In an introductory paragraph you will indicate which advertisement will be analysed, what the background of the advertisement is, what the method of analysis you will apply and which tropes/style figures you will go deeper into. Finally, indicate the ordering, so that the reader knows what to expect.
