Discuss Toxicology and Animals.

You will select a toxicology-related media story that involves animals (preferably domestic animals) and published in the last 5 years. The articles could cover: toxicity testing results from animal studies, animal poisoning cases, environmental pollution, new legislation on a toxicant that impacts animals, etc. It MUST be from popular media – this category includes articles appearing in local, national or international media (e.g. StarPhoenix, CBC, BBC, Globe and Mail, Scientific American, etc), a press release from a provincial/federal/non-profit agency, or a radio or television program.. Provide a short summary of the issue discussed in the media story. Then address the questions below in the remainder of your essay:. – Provide some additional background on the toxicant and exposure issue (how does the toxicant generally cause adverse (negative) effects, what is the main route of exposure) – Is this chemical toxicity limited to the species in the article? Are there implications for other animals? – According to the article, is there any action being taken to address the toxicity? If not, is there anything that should/could be done? – Provide a reason for why you choose this article. What is your own opinion of the issue?
