Do we have to have an “official language” policy?

read the story “No Speak English” by Sandra Cisneros. Write an essay in which you analyze the problems of an immigrant family, the issues of learning a second language and how you see assimilation/maintenance of one’s own language. Talk about your experience learning a second a language or somebody you know. Finally, explain what society can do to help solve the problems families may have with a second language. Do we have to have an “official language” policy? What could you do to help people who need to learn another language?
