Do you think this emergency will have long-lasting effects on how people in the west view this division between the individual and society?

We are in the middle of an epidemic that has completely overturned life all over the world, forcing people to stay behind doors and not go out. These measures all restrict people’s independence (“agency”) for the betterment of society as a whole (“harmony”). Do you think this emergency will have long-lasting effects on how people in the west view this division between the individual and society? In other words, do you think the more eastern-influenced idea of harmony, where the betterment of society takes precedence over the individual, will become more important to westerners than it has been in the past? Why or why not?
