The thesis will discuss a psychological issue based on empirical research. The exam answers are graded, A – F. The thesis should be a mini literature review with the form of a scientific article. You choose your own hypothesis. The purpose of the assignment should be to explain and discuss the most relevant and relevant research related to the problem, as well as to identify problems / potential for improvement in the literature. Some papers may also be written for the purpose of evaluating or testing a theory / hypothesis. The thesis is structured in the form of a scientific article, with introduction, method, results and discussion: -The introduction puts the problem in a professional context -The method section describes the literature search process -The results section summarizes findings from empirical original articles on the issue -The discussion section summarizes the findings and discusses what conclusions can be drawn from the literature review: the strength of the findings, contradictory findings, implications for theory and practice, etc. Study design, size and data collection: write about the statistics in the result part which include; Report correlation, P-value, significant result, effect measure/ size, average, variance measure and standard deviation. Feel free to use what you feel are relevant but here are the information from my thesis assignment: * Main results, as well as information on design, selection and data collection / operationalization should be included in the preparation of the results. * Avoid discussing details of the results that are not explained in the results section * Statistics: assess whether it is appropriate to report p-values, effect sizes, averages and standard deviations * Proper use of statistics can nuance the claims in the results section * Summaries along the way can be helpful in keeping the reader’s attention and focus on the most important * Keep a red thread to the problem – make it clear that the results are relevant to the task Literature search: Literature reviews in the psychology field often use one of two search strategies to find relevant research literature, or a combination of both. These search strategies have no official names, but for the sake of the word we call one the systematic search strategy and the other one for exploratory search. Combining both methods is probably the most common. Again, it is important that at this time you have spent enough time to familiarize yourself with the topic area of your assignment so that you know the most central concepts and theories related to your problem. With that, you will be better equipped to find good articles for your bachelor thesis through the literature search process. Also, remember that the 10 original articles are only the literature for the result part of your thesis. In the introduction and discussion, other scientific literature is often used to set a context for the literature review, and to discuss the results. The literature search will be described in the method part of the assignment. Here is a template that can work well if you have done both systematic and exploratory searches: – Where and in what time period was the systematic search conducted? – Which search root / search strings were used – Feel free to specify filter features and / or search fields used – How many articles were identified? How many were selected for closer review? – How did you go about doing the exploratory search? – Reference lists? Books? Search ahead? Expert advice? – How many were selected in the end, based on both systematic and exploratory searches?. What criteria for the inclusion and exclusion of articles were used here? Remember: you should not explain how you found each article.
