This paper will focus on comparing and contrasting the Danwei system with Hilberseimer’s Grosstadt (Metroplex architecture.) This paper is to discuss the the utopian housing and work systems and the connection to one another. The western sources/influences on the danwei system and what is truly “Chinese” in the Danwei.
