There are many conflicts and in Glaspell’s one act play, ”Trifles”. One of these in gender/feminism, particularly during this time period, and how women were treated differently (lesser than) in realms that were consider ”masculine” (including criminal justice, medicine, academia, and the law), while women were meant to oversee domesticity and family (unfairly overlooked and often demeaned as secondary or unimportant), we see this occur in ” Trifles” as law enforcement overlooks clues and dismisses the women’s input in the story.
