study of communication
To evaluate strengths and weaknesses of experimental design, survey research,
and content analysis
find sampling techniques (e.g., purposive, random, cluster).
find participants protection (e.g., confidentiality, consent form).
find data collection procedures (i.e., step-by-step process of data collection).
find all statistical tests used in each article (e.g., t-tests, correlations, regressions)..

Final Paper (9 points)
This final paper includes an in-depth analysis of the three articles that you reviewed for the mini papers. These articles represent three methods of communication inquiry: survey, content analysis, and experiment. Your final paper should address the following questions.
What did your textbook and/or class discussion summaries say about what research questions or hypotheses are most suitable for survey, experiment, and content analysis (100 words minimum)? Go back to mini paper #1 and review all the research questions and hypotheses for each article and discuss how they are different/similar (150 words minimum) (2.5 points).
Go back to mini paper #3 and review participants and data collection procedures for each article. Briefly explain participants and data collection procedures for each study and discuss how they are different/similar (200 words minimum; 2 points).
If you were to explain to a friend when to use survey, content analysis, and experiment methods, what would you tell them (200 words minimum; 2 points)?
What did your textbook and/or class discussion summaries say about the strengths and weaknesses of survey, content analysis, and experimental designs? Explain them to a friend (250 words minimum; 2.5 points).
