The purposes of this student team project are: (1) to identify a local company where students can collect necessary data to analyze at least one aspect of supply chain (for example, inventory, transportation, information, sourcing, etc.) to achieve right balance between responsiveness and efficiency; for student teams who do not have access to real company, data can be obtained from Excel files posted on Black board in a link titled “Alternative Supply Chain Project” and (2) to make recommendations to improve the effectiveness of the current practices adopted in the chosen aspect (perform comparison analyses to show improvement). In this research project, the student must: 1. Define the project objective 2. Identify and use appropriate analytics techniques to solve the problem 3. This project must develop new research hypothesis/question on any global business issues; 4. This project must be authentic in portraying a current or emerging issue in the corporate/business ecosystem; 5. The project must clearly state the current business environment and the proposed objective of the project. This may be in the form of a new research hypothesis or question or a specific performance metric the team intends to improve. 6. This project must include managerial implications and the relevance to one or more business or technical disciplines must be demonstrated 7. This project must consider a real problem from any business disciplines; 8.
