Looking back on the era in which “A Doll’s House” was written (1879/19th century), we can see the disadvantages/unfairness to women in that society. The author, Henrik Ibsen, challenged the status quo of the 19th century in terms of the expected roles of men and women. (1) Some inequities/injustices, Ibsen presented in “A Doll’s House” have remained today in our society. Identify at least two such inequities/injustices, women in Ibsen’s “A Doll’s House” experienced and explain how they still exist today. (2) We see that some things do change for the better with time. What are some injustices/inequities that are now looked at in our society as unacceptable to someone/or a group (for example, men, women, racial minorities, etc.) that you feel will be no longer accepted in the next 100 years.
