Case studies are developed with the aim to understand what has happened and why. To achieve this, you will work individually to:
Identify the concepts and phenomena related to corporate entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial orientation, strategic entrepreneurship, external environment, and organisational members.
Relate the theory to a practical situation (e.g., to apply the ideas and knowledge discussed in lectures and seminars to the practical situation at hand in the case study).
Assessment description and advice:
Watch the documentary in full as many times as you need, preferably with your lectures slides, notes, textbooks, and the case study format guide at hand. This will facilitate an iterative (back and forth) approach, where you can make notes and read around the corporate entrepreneurship phenomena, concepts, and models that you have identified.

Cases studies that gain higher marks typically achieve the following:
provide evidence of wider reading via the use of sources, other than the documentary itself, concerning corporate entrepreneurship in Poundland (e.g., market reports, newspapers, and company websites);
make good use of supporting materials in order to conduct a rigorous analysis of the case;
demonstrate the ability to apply relevant corporate entrepreneurship concepts, phenomena, and models to explain what is happening in the Poundland case;
show the originality of thought;
have a clear structure that follows the case study format (see below) and are well written (e.g., academic English; free of typographical errors; accurately and consistently referenced).

If you have any questions about your case study, please discuss these with the Module Leader. Please make use of the timetabled Advice and Feedback Hours, when individual sessions can be booked.
