“You will develop a technology/innovation project. You may work alone, with a partner or a group. The assignments for this project will lead to the creation of a sample business plan that may be completed as a Word document or Power Point Portfolio. The Project Portfolio includes the following components:1.Executive Summary – This is the first page of your business plan. It should include a mission statement, which explains the main focus of your business, as well as a brief description of the products or services offered, basic information such as ownership structure, and a summary of your plans2.Company Description and Structure – Provide a snapshot of your organization, such as company name, location, organizational structure and type of organization (i.e., sole proprietorship, partnership, corporation, dot.com, consulting, nonprofit organization, etc. 3.Strategic Goals – An objective statement should clearly define your company’s goals and contain a business strategy that details how you plan to achieve them. It spells out exactly what you’d like to accomplish, both in the near term and over the long term.4.Products/Services – Describe your products or services, pricing; customers (your market niche); any patents or trademarks, you will apply for; and how you plan to fill orders. 5.Marketing Plan – Describe your marketing strategy; how you plan to attract and retain loyal customers, strengths of your business, and your competitive advantage. “I could’ve chosen any type of business I wanted for this technology/innovation project, so I chose a social media/brand management company. Something similar to Gary Vee’s “VaynerMedia”. In the instructions, I know it says to come up with a name for the company, but you could just put (company name) in place of it and I can fill in that part, along with the explanation for it. You’ll definitely have to research mission statements and business models for current media companies in order to get an idea.
