Project Proposal Information:
For our course project, I intend to address the crucial problem of poor collaboration and communication in the hospital context since it greatly influences patient care and results (Abhishek Tiwary et al., 2019). I’ve discovered ineffective multidisciplinary cooperation and communication among healthcare personnel, often leading to errors and patient treatment delays. In particular, the population I want to focus on is that of patients in acute care settings who need sophisticated and coordinated treatment. The clinical setting I have selected is a large metropolitan hospital with a diversified patient population. I will collaborate closely with Ms. Carole Campbell, RN, BSN, a skilled nurse manager who occupies the position of Clinical Nurse Manager, to address this problem efficiently. Ms. Campbell is an expert at leading healthcare teams and is knowledgeable about programs for quality improvement. Implementing a multidisciplinary communication and cooperation training program will be the focus of my change initiative proposal. Through this program, healthcare professionals will acquire the abilities and resources necessary to collaborate successfully with other healthcare team members (Buljac-Samardžić et al., 2020). I think we can improve patient care, reduce mistakes, and raise the standard of healthcare by tackling this problem. Despite my excitement towards this initiative, I’m also open to suggestions and counsel from my teachers and peers. I’m especially interested in learning about similar programs that have been effective in other healthcare settings and any concerns or difficulties that could emerge throughout the project’s implementation. Together, we can promote a culture of productive cooperation and communication in the medical field, ultimately benefiting patients and medical personnel.
