What separates me? What keeps me separated? As I do this work, what still connects me/us? The purpose of this assignment is to ask yourself this mantra/set of questions as a way of exploring the readings and your experiences in the Tenderloin. I would like to focus on the lack of love that I may have towards the people who are unhoused in the tenderloin. I have already started a piece of writing. ‘As I go on with my daily life, I often face unhoused individuals and the stuff they leave behind. I don’t want to say trash because that is their belongings. I have been living in San Francisco for over 3 years now. I still have difficulty wrapping my head around being unhoused and staying in that situation. I don’t know if people choose to remain unhoused. ‘
