What specifically is being critiqued by the ad you chose? What about the ad, verbally and visually, stands out to you, and why? What strategies do the ad’s visual design or verbal phrasing employ? Do you think this is an effective use of “culture jamming” as defined by the authors (and why or why not)? Make sure to clearly explain the context of the ad (i.e., to what are the “prankers” responding?). As always, make sure to make specific references to the week’s readings. In your responses to classmates, you might offer an alternative evaluation of the ad they chose, or compare the ad to another you’ve seen (real or ironic) that employs similar strategies. In either case, make sure to focus on the effectiveness of your classmate’s ad in response to its specific context. Review the grading rubric for this discussion before you post. In addition to responding clearly, fully, and creatively to the prompt, to receive full credit, you must: Submit your initial post no later than 11:59 pm on Wednesday; 2) Post on four different days.
