Write a response to the book after you have finished reading it. It needs to include the following three sections:Section I: Discuss your overall impression of this type of book. Did you think it was a worthwhile read? Why or why not? Include your thoughts about the particular genre this unique book employed, namely the philosophic dialogue that went back and forth in the form of a debate (do you think such debates can be productive?) Do you think such discussions can even change a person’s mind about certain beliefs? Have you had personal experience with this type of back and forth with others? How did it go? What do you think is necessary before a productive philosophical dialogue is possible? What can you learn about civility despite disagreements on important issues from this debate? Do you think our modern culture is becoming less civil in disagreements over important issues? What do you think helps people be civil in conversations about the meaning of life and other deep issues? Section II: Devote a section of your book response to the worldview positions? Do you identify with one of the two worldviews represented? If so, which one and briefly explain what are your main reason(s) that have persuaded you to own this worldview? If you identify more with an eastern perspective, explain your beliefs and tell me what reasons have been the most influential in causing you to identify with it. If you identify with a different worldview briefly tell me what it is and the main reason you believe it is true. If you really don’t know at this time (you are more of an agnostic), then tell me why you are undecided, tell me why the various arguments do not seem to trend in any certain direction for you? Finish out this section with your opinion about the actual debate itself. Please address these questions: Do you think there was a winner in this particular debate? (Did someone present a better overall case for their position?) Why or why not? Do you have more intellectual respect or curiosity for naturalism and/or theism as a result of reading this debate? Did the debate strengthen your personal position or cause you to ask more questions?Section III: Finish off your book by telling me about four different exchanges that occurred in the book that had an impact on you (two exchanges are to come from Part 1 of the book and two exchanges are to come from part 2 of the book). Importantly, tell me briefly what it was about the exchange that you found interesting or liked. These could be exchanges that made you truly rethink something or caused you to doubt something or even caused you to change your mind about something. Maybe it was an exchange of logical points that was “eye opening” to something that you had not thought about before or it could be an exchange where you believed someone was more persuasive due to the strength of their arguments and you were impressed. Impt: Do not just mention the exchange, but provide some brief detail about the very back and forth of the philosophical points or arguments made. Then, briefly interact as mentioned just above under Section III. Please use separate paragraphs for each of the four arguments in Section III and label them in the following way: Part 1; Exchange #1, Part 1; Exchange #2, Part 2; Exchange #3, Part 2; Exchange #4.
