Building on the topics covered in class, write a newspaper article for the Collegian based on your understanding of the topic “What is Asia?.” You may choose to critically examine any of the topics covered in class (i.e. week 1- week 15) and may cite from the assigned readings and videos shown in class. Since this assignment is designed as a newspaper opinion piece, you can express your perspectives, but try to address some of these questions: What is Asia according to you? Is there an alternative way of imagining Asia other than through its physical and political boundaries? Is there a particular image, picture or event that encapsulates your imagination of Asia? What lies ahead for this region and/or what does the future looks like for Asian countries culturally, economically, and politically?
