Write a paper focusing on a social media and health concept that you are interested in exploring in greater detail. The paper should be a review of relevant literature in the area of social media and health you decide to focus on as well as an application of the concepts that are discussed in the literature to a specific media and health related issue. The paper should be double-spaced, 12-point font, and adhere to APA 6th edition style guidelines. The paper should have the following sections:1.Introduction–this section should be 1 page (or less) introduction to the topic you decide to explore in greater depth. It should introduce the topic you have chosen, define key terms, and provide a brief overview of the rest of the paper.The topic should be about some aspect of social media and health, and you may use the required readings for the class as a starting point for finding additional research on a particular health and social media topic. You can easily find additional research articles, book chapters, etc. by looking in the reference section of one or more of the research articles you read in the modules for the course. Another helpful resource is Google Scholar (scholar.google.com). You can do a search by typing in keywords/terms using this search engine, and it will find articles (across different academic disciplines) related to the keywords/terms you search for. If there is not a pdf or html link directly available on Google Scholar, you can usually access any article via an electronic journal search using the George Mason University online library website. If you are logged onto the GMU library website while using Google Scholar, you will see a link where you can search for a particular article on the GMU library website.2.Literature Review–this section should be 3-4 pages in which you briefly summarize the findings of any articles on your topic that you decide to include in your paper. The number of articles you find will vary depending on how broad or narrow the topic you decide to research happens to be. You should try to broaden or narrow your topic so that you can find around 5-6 articles on the topic. For each article, provide a paragraph or so that summarizes the main points, findings, or theoretical/practical implications of the article for your topic area.3.Application Section–this section should be 2-3 pages in which you apply what is known about a particular social media and health topic to a real world situation or your own personal experience. It is fine if you want to speculate or discuss things in a more hypothetical manner in this section.
