As this is a writing intensive course, students are required to write a research paper. The paper should address a topic central to how technology shapes our values in contemporary society, how our values shape technology, or the interaction between technology and values. The paper should explain the historical context, meaning, and cultural impact of the research topic. It should be written for a general audience and take a position (thesis) on the topic it is addressing, supporting that position with relevant and appropriate source material in order to persuade the reader of the strength and validity of the thesis. The paper should display the writer’s comprehension of the topic being addressed by making and expanding on connections found in the source material and presenting them in a coherent and intelligible manner to the reader.Your course project consists of a 2400+ word research paper, which will be due in Week 13 and an Oral Presentation to the class in Week 15. To prepare for these assignments you submitted a research proposal in week 4, an outline and references in week 6, and a draft of your research paper in Week 10.
