Specifically, you should test that the theory is relevant to real world people, events, and situations. If it is an objective theory, argue whether it usefully explains or predicts your artifact. If it is an interpretive theory, discuss whether it helps us understand and examine your artifact in a new or useful way. You also need to support your position by drawing from research studies published in academic communication journals. You are encouraged to use phrases like , “I feel,” “I believe,” and “I argue” to articulate the benefits, value, limitations, and errors in the theory. Questions such as, “Does your artifact align perfectly with the theory?” “Does it complicate or contradict the theory?” “Does it point out something that the theory does not quite account for?” can help guide you in writing this paragraph.
