Writer’s Choice

For this third assignment, you will explain how two concepts fit together in the context of a mental health disorder. You will need to have read chapter 14 to complete this written assignment, and to refer to chapter 6.

1) choose one of these two mental health conditions from Chapter 14, either: a) social anxiety Disorder, or b) major depressive disorder.

2) Then select one of the following concepts from Chapter 6, and use it to explain why people might experience the mental health condition that you selected in step 1 above. You can choose from: a) independent view of self; b) interdependent view of self; c) entity theory of self; or d) incremental theory of self.

3) Write an essay explaining how multiple features of the concept that you chose in step 2 might contribute towards the mental health condition that you chose in step 1.

In your answer, which must be a maximum of 200 words (I will only read the first 200 words), state:

i) the name of the mental health condition, and the theory / concept that you selected

ii) a brief and accurately-paraphrased definition of the mental health condition that you selected, and of the concept that you chose.
