Part III Design a Performance Management System

Identify the steps in developing effective performance management systems. In each step, explain what the organization should do to ensure an effective performance management system. An outline of steps can be found in textbook Chapter 2. Be specific in the sub-steps. Choose one of the options.

Option A: If your community partner does not have an existing performance management plan. You can design a preliminary performance management plan with steps. In each step, list the questions the organization leader can consider. Your plan should include at least these components: Performance goals and objectives Operational processes and resources needed, such as budget, staff, technology Performance indicators to measure the outputs and outcomes Comparing the actual program results with the established goals The means to verify and validate measured values Two separate descriptions about 1) a minimally effective program or 2) a successful program

Option B: If your organization has an existing performance management plan, you can revise/reframe it – how the plan can be improved and what else can be included in the plan. Also, evaluate the current practice – how the plan was implemented. Offer suggestions based on your analysis.
