All session long, I have been asking you all to think critically about the concept of resilience. What does it mean to be resilient? What internal and external factors might negatively or positively impact a person’s ability to bounce back from hard times?Now, I would like you all to produce an 8-12 page paper wherein you explain your journey of learning about resilience, and make a claim concerning what you believe to be true about resilience, and then support that claim using good reasons and evidence. You may choose to use narrative as part of your essay, and take readers through your experience of learning about the concept of resilience and how it has changed for you. You may choose to use a more balanced approach and walk the reader through popular ideas about resilience before arguing for which one you believe to be most true. This is not an opinion paper. It is an argument, and an argument includes 1) a thesis statement that makes a debate-able claim, 2) offers readers both sound evidence and good reasons why the evidence you share is convincing, and also 3) uses appropriate appeals to the reader. Your challenge is to persuade your reader through good reasons and evidence that your stance on the topic of resilience is true. You are encouraged – nay, begged – to use pieces of your earlier writing to compose the draft of your essay. The whole point of an annotated bibliography was to make your drafting process faster. Peer Review Draft Research ProjectFinal Drafts will be submitted on Friday, July 31 by 11:00 pm. Papers must be in MLA format and include at least four (4) credible sources used appropriately and with clear work unpacking the relevance of the sources you cite within the paper.
