I believe QuickBooks would be a good choice for this business because the photographer could use the class feature track revenue and costs related to print sales, events, and overhead separately. In addition, a photography business is likely comprised of an individual who may employee assistants for jobs. For a very small business owner like a photographer, it may be more feasible to spend some time researching payroll tax laws than to pay to outsource it. Based on my experience with QuickBooks so far, it seems like it has a lot of tools and resources for small business owners who need to take on a lot of roles in the business. The business owner could still hire an accountant to do the accounting in QuickBooks or to consult on complex accounting matters. Quickbooks gives a small business owner the versatility to handle things on his or her own and to call in help when needed.Mobile applications will allow the accounting record to be updated in real time. For small businesses where many transactions are done at stores (as opposed to mainly issuing purchase orders), businesses will be able to record transactions on the spot. This will prevent scrambling for receipts at end of month when the bank rec doesn’t balance. While a lot of larger businesses will be limited by security risks, smaller businesses that need more agility will benefit from the convenience of mobile applications.Person BI would start my own Production Company. I would product commercials, YouTube TV shows, and promotional videos. I would need to monitor my time spent on location shooting, editing, and meeting with clients. I would need a few employees to handle the work load. Software and equipment purchases and sometimes rentals if the shoot calls for specialty equipment. I have used a few different types of organizational or general accounting software and I really enjoy QuickBooks. I would be able to log my employees hours, monitor their tax and benefits withdraws, as well as print out my employees checks. Keep track of all the contractors I would hire for specialty jobs, and all equipment or software assets purchased for my business. I would utilize the reports to view what types of jobs were more profitable and worth more of my time. As technology moves forward QuickBooks and Accounting in general will need to become as instant and up to date as possible. Mobile software is a huge development and I believe will only increase in use in the future. When I was a child my parents had to keep a checkbook by hand to know how much money is available to them as any time. Now we have mobile banking and know exactly how much money, to the penny, we have available to us. Larger purchases do sometimes require processing time, but even that is sometimes show. I believe this type of instant awareness will need to be applied to accounting. People and businesses will start looking for what can provide them with instant up to date knowledge of their financial standing. They will also want this knowledge to be available to them where ever they happen to be. It would be very helpful with business dealings to prove financial worth when working with sales, or stability when applying for a loan. QuickBooks or other accounting software needs to be able to provide these options if they want to stay up to date with the growing trends in technology.
