You will find attached 2 articles – an editorial comparing the CV OH suite to a sterile cockpit and about teamwork and communication in CT surgery. Please read the attached documents and then write a paper with your thoughts on the importance of communication in the OR, specifically as it relates to perfusion and the open heart team. You have now been in your clinical site for a couple of weeks and should be observing and perhaps participating in this first hand. Is communication important? Can you think creatively of ways to improve communication in our environment and what to do when team members fail to communicate effectively?
