Evaluate the quality of the adaptation of Chinese Mythology and Supernatural

Short writing assignment #2 In the past two weeks of lectures, we encountered Xiaoqian, the ghost girl in “The Magic Sword and the Magic Bag,” and Madame White, the snake lady in “Madam White Is Kept Forever under the Thunder Peak Tower.” After examining the features of these supernatural beings against the premodern cultural contexts, we also get to see the two lady’s performance in the modern drama and film adapted from their stories: “Nie Xiaoqian” and “White Snake.” Please choose ONE of the two stories and compare the chosen story with the respective TV or film adaptation to write a drama or film review.  (The movie chosen for this assignment is White Snake 2019 (this is a short trailer of the movie https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FCY7E0oHW6Y) The story will be uploaded for this assignment, please refer to both the movie and the story to see what is missing in the movie? and why did the film decide to not include it in the movie?
