For example, in Florida the name of this comprehensive test is the Florida Standards Assessment (FSA). The FSA is given to all public-school students in Grades 3 through 11. Schools receive an annual grade based on the performance of their students on the FSA. Students at certain grade levels may be retained if the standards are not met. This assignment should address the following issues separately and extensively: a. Describe the comprehensive test used in your state of Mississippi and give a brief history of its development and implementation. Are there any controversies surrounding this test in your state? What type of test is used in your state (examples: norm-referenced, criterion-referenced test)? b. Select three elementary schools in your school district: one urban, one rural, one suburban. Identify and describe these three schools and the communities in which they are located (e.g. ethnic percentages, socio-economic statistics, mobility of students, SWD, ELLs, etc.) For each school, find the average FSA test scores in reading for Grades 3, 4, and 5.c. Create, and include, on a separate page, a table with one axis for Schools and one axis for Grade Level. d. For each school, list which grade level has the lowest scores and which grade level has the highest scores. e. Describe the differences you discovered in the reading scores among the grade levels. Give a minimum of two explanations of these differences. f. Write a conclusion that summarizes the findings in (a – e) in this assignment.
