Joseph’s article in the UMGC Library called, “Black Power’s Powerful Legacy.” What critiques of the Black Panther Party does Joseph describe? What surprises you about what Joseph has learned about the BPP and the FBI’s surveillance of the group? What does Joseph believe are the positive legacies of the BPP? If you were to plan a course for 11th graders to teach them about the BPP, what three things would you emphasize? (Note: Answer these questions. Do not give a history of the BPP). Purpose: The purpose of this assignment is to show that you have begun to see your topic as part of a larger historical scene. You are beginning to focus in on one small aspect of the topic to investigate it more carefully in a 5-6 page paper and an 8-12 slide presentation.Process: Begin this assignment with a paragraph introducing the topic you are doing, giving background that leads up to the research question or thesis you want to investigate. Second, write out 8 events in chronological order that relate specifically to the topic and research question/thesis of your project.Third, prepare four annotated bibliographic entries in MLA Style.
