Ultrasonic NDT coursework: There are two parts. part 1. Analysis of experimental ultrasonic data indicating how, e.g., thickness, velocity and attenuation may be deduced in the time and frequency domains – report required Part 2. Design and modelling of an ultrasonic array to satisfy a given inspection specification – report required Part 1: You will process these to show how the attenuation and reflection coefficient of different objects behave with frequency. You will also produce the profile of the thickness of a component as a transducer is scanned over it. Part 2: The purpose of this exercise is to design an ultrasonic phased array for a specific application and simulate an example image obtained from it Report for part 1 is up to 6 pages and for part 2 is up to 10 pages (without Matlab coding).
