It Shouldn’t Be This Way (15%): Type a 5-6 page paper exploring and explaining how our current “system” of long-term care is failing to meet the needs of vulnerable older adults and their families. This personal account details one family’s experience caring for their mother’s declining health through multiple settings in the last years of her life. I will be asking you to compare and contrast the conditions and treatment of the mother as she is forced to transition from one institution to another in ways that ultimately harm her health and quality of life.
