In 1978, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York launched the idea of a museum blockbuster show by organizing an exhibition of the objects found in the tomb of Tutankhamen. Millions saw the young boy Pharaoh’s belongings that were made to support him for eternity in the afterlife. 30 years later, another King Tut exhibition was touring museums around the country and attracting large crowds.
