I agree with you that we NPs OR PMHNP are responsible for creating an environment that promotes civility by reflecting upon their behavior to identify their strengths and improvement areas and must strive to model positive behaviors for their colleagues, patients, and faculty students regarding professional and civil behavior. Like the saying “goes we are a product of our environment” and by saying that I do not agree because we can choose to change and create a positive environment through our negative experiences. There is no place for incivility in a workplace or any environment, we as leaders now and with all the knowledge from this class and program, in general, should promote an environment free from such behavior. Nurse practitioners are highly involved in the professional role modeling, which lays a foundation for civility and respect (Clark, 2017).
