Describe a current issue in U.S politics.

Writing assignments will be made by the student and chosen from a current issue in U. S. politics. Check: Time, Newsweek, LA Times Opinion Page, etc. The following format will be used for final written papers: 1. Title of the article and issue synopsis. 2. Assumptions of presenter prior to analysis. What does the title suggest to you? 3. Author’s point of view or perspective. 4. List facts or evidence used by the author in support of the main idea. 5. Has the author inadvertently or intentionally omitted facts or evidence that does not support the position? 6. List any examples of bias or faulty reasoning found in the article. 7. Has your analysis swayed or changed your thinking? Final typewritten drafts of the issue will be no longer than four double-spaced pages in length. Keep in mind that you are doing a critical analysis of a current issue, not a book report.
