Use the internet to research Vygotski’s social learning theory and Tuckman’s Stages of Group Development. Then, think back to a time you worked in a group. Maybe it was in a class, or at work, or in community service or on a sports team. Next, include an example of your experience in each stage of Tuckman’s framework. Share whether it was positive or negative, how you got through each stage and what you learned in the process. Then, write about a time you learned something in a group. Maybe it was how to change the oil in your car, or how to make a Thanksgiving turkey or how to make tamales. Describe the group activity that evolved into a learning experience. Next, write a reflection about the experience and what you learned now that you understand learning as a social activity. Finish your post by writing a reflection about what you learned from Tuckman and Vygotski, and how you hope to apply this learning to the group experience in this course.
