Nursing care of a family, or perhaps family-centered care is a significant responsibility. This care focuses on the family unit, collaboration, communication, coping, diversity, support, and others.

Part of that role is child care, health promotion, after-school activities and so on.

For this assignment, you’ll need to take a field trip. You must visit a playground. This could be a simple neighborhood playground in your area, or you could visit someplace more elaborate, like a waterpark. It’s up to you.

Complete the America’s Playgrounds Safety Report Card (Links to an external site.).

Once you’ve completed the report card, ponder it. Then write a 1/2 page (1 page absolute maximum) paper on your findings. You should address the following:

Describe the playground including size, location, purpose/intent. (i.e., is it a small local playground in a subdivision or a larger playground that is part of a city park?)

What was the activity like at the time of your visit?

What was the score assigned? Were you surprised, not surprised, why or why not?

What was your insight from this field trip?

(Due to COVID-19 restrictions, you may very well not find any child play activity but please assess the playground, itself, regardless of activity. Because this assignment requires a fieldtrip, it is not due until the end of Week 4.)
