Describe the process of implementation and support the discussion from a theoretical perspective.

TOPIC 1 Select a specific electronic health record application (such as electronic documentation, barcoding technology, physician order entry, electronic MAR, clinical decision support etc…). Review and summarize the current evidence on the selected application as it pertains to patient safety. It is the expectation that you do a comprehensive review of the literature at minimum 5 articles on the specific application and its impact on patient safety. Critique the evidence identifying the strengths and gaps in the literature that currently exist. OR TOPIC 2 This topic has you implementing an electronic application in your clinical area, such as the implementation of a new clinical piece of equipment (ie glucometer, infusion pumps), implementation of a new data reporting form, electronic documentation etc… Describe the process of implementation and support the discussion from a theoretical perspective. Discuss the barriers in the implementation process and how you would address those barriers.
