Final project is a compilation and analysis of that exploration in the form of a white paper. [NOTE: A white paper is a report written for a specific organization that describes, addresses, and suggests solutions to a problem faced by that institution.] Your task is to write a 750 – 1000 word report that describes the challenge or problem, presents solutions to the problem, and suggests a solution to that problem here at Lone Star College. Your audience for this paper is a group of college leaders (students, staff, and faculty), and your purpose is to persuade them to make a change or two to improve the LSC experience for students. Your final project should include five (5) academic sources. You can also use two or three additional news sources or popular sources if you would like. NOTE: Make sure you include a Works Cited page as part of your document that is formatted according to MLA guidelines. Listed below is a list of the components of the project: FRONT MATTER _____ Transmittal letter. See figure 2, Chapter 11 for definition and example _____ Title page. See figure 3, Chapter 11 for definition and example _____ Table of Contents. See figure 6, Chapter 11 for definition and example _____ Abstract. See Figure 5, Chapter 11 for definition and example BODY OF WHITE PAPER I. Introduction (Should be two paragraphs) A. Use a specific story, observation, or situation to illustrate the problem you are exploring B. Create a thesis that identifies the problem to be solved, the methods used to solve the problem, and your proposed solution II. Description of the Problem (Should be three to six paragraphs) A. Use secondary sources to prove the problem exists. This proof may be statistical information, stories, and/or institutional data. B. Use personal experiences and observations and interactions with other students and staff to prove the problem exists at Lone Star College. III. Possible Solutions (One paragraph for each proposed solution–at least three solutions) A. Use secondary sources to illustrate how other colleges have attempted to solve the problem. B. Use personal observation to illustrate how LSC has attempted to solve the problem.

IV. Recommendation (One to two paragraphs per recommendation) V. Implications/Conclusion: Emphasize why it is imperative to solve this problem.
