Discuss Development of Moral Reasoning.

This essay will address students’ comprehension of Kohlberg’stheory of moral development and also invite reflection on adolescent decision-making.Students should first read the textbook section (Kail, R.V., & Cavanaugh, J.C. (2017) Essentials of Human Development: A Life-Span View (2nd ed.). Boston: Cengage Learning.) on Kohlberg’s theory of moral reasoning, including the Heinz dilemma. Then students should find andread at least 2 additional peer-reviewed, academic journal articlesrelated to Kohlberg’s theory of moral reasoning development.Following this review of current literature, students will write an essay that includes a brief literature review based on the textbook and the additional journal articles. Students will also consider the Heinz dilemma and what level and stage of Kohlberg’s theory they would have been at in adolescence as well as what level and stage they would be at now. Lastly, students will share reflections about how their personal faith beliefs may have impacted their moral reasoning. Students should use headings to organize this essay (e.g., Introduction; Literature Review; Heinz Dilemma in Adolescence; Heinze Dilemma Today; Impact of Faith Beliefs – or something similar)
