Discuss Texas Government Officials – Research on Donors/Interest Groups.

It is important for every citizen to develop their skills at finding the empirical data they need in order to assess public officials and policies. This assignment will build these skills by having you conduct some basic research about the people that represent you. Here is the task:Select an elected public official (Texas Representative, Terry Canales OR Texas Congressman, Vicente Gonzalez) and investigate which interest groups support them. Compile a list of that official’s top donors and describe the ways in which he or she might be influenced by these groups.
