***My project involves the maintenance, repair, and replacement of healthcare IT equipment in the ED (please see attached power point with proposal information for this change management project as a reference to follow for content.) My goals are to integrate the frontline nursing team in the Emergency department into the reporting and troubleshooting of faulty IT equipment in order to improve patient safety and overall staff satisfaction. It focuses on on team integration into new process, nursing leadership guiding the nursing and IT teams to success using leadership strategy, weekly rounding with a member of the nursling leadership and IT team for real-time repair, and the use of communication tools and posters to educate the nursing team on who, how, and when to report IT issues in the Emergency Department. We use medication scanners, badge readers, Electronic Medical Records software, Zebra label printers and electronic patient track boards. A component of my project is the creation of an IT equipment cart stocked with replacements items and parts for rounding with IT.
