As a reminder, The Writer’s Companion has offered a number of techniques for thinking and writing analytically. Chapters 3 (19-28) and 4 (29-52) discuss strategies for rhetorical analysis, including ethos, logos, and pathos in the ARP; the Analytical Toolkit; and the Method. Chapter 6 (63-83) helps you think through connecting evidence and claims, and chapter 9 focuses on “Big Picture” approaches to paper organization.
