Does immigration from developing countries pose a threat to the US economy and America’s way of life, or does it help the economy?

According to the Pew Research Center, “the US foreign-born reached a record 43.7 million in 2016.” This accounted for 13.5% of the population. Of that number, approximately 76 percent are here legally. Over the past few years there have been much debate and government shutdowns over immigration policy, the DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) program, undocumented workers, criminal activity, separation of parents and children at the border, and the building of a border wall between Mexico and the U.S. The Trump Administration even rescinded DACA, which was challenged in several courts (pro and con). One argument against immigrants coming to the US, especially from developing countries, is that they (immigrants) take jobs from US citizens or that they hurt the economy. Does immigration from developing countries pose a threat to the US economy and America’s way of life, or does it help the economy? Why or why not? Was DACA, which was created by President Obama in 2012, a good policy? Why or why not? What would you recommend to replace it, if any? What was the Supreme Court’s Decision in 2020 concerning DACA?
