Uncategorized Assignment-helpASSESSMENT COMPONENT ONE (50%) The Report(3000 words +/10% excluding appendices and bibliography.)The action plan should be within the appendices and is not included in the word limit. This part of the assessment requires you to produce a report during which you reflect on the assessment you have undertaken of your own skills, drawing on relevant evidence you have collected during the module to support analysis of your skills development needs and the conclusions you have drawn. A clear action plan for future development must be provided in the appendices. Supporting evidence must also be provided in the appendices to the report. An overview of each of the assessment criteria is provided below with a detailed breakdown then provided against each marking criteria. The report must include the following elements: Assessment of self (40%) – this should include reflection on your own self-assessment, providing insights into issues relating to your own skill development. A range of tools and perspectives, including feedback and consideration of the perspectives of others, should be considered and integrated with analysis. Clear priorities for skill development must be discussed with clear skill areas identified to focus on moving forward, and a rationale provided for choice. As a guide it is suggested that students choose no more than three skills areas to focus on. Of these at least one must be drawn from LO3 and one from LO4.Continuous Personal Development and Development Planning (30%) – the focus here is on the student demonstrating awareness of the complexities involved in developing skills in areas chosen, and being able to develop a personal strategy to enable their development of these moving forward. Due consideration should be given to contextual issues including consideration of the future. Barriers and limitations to development which arise from the context should also be discussed and strategies to overcome these presented. The approach identified should be well justified and result in a detailed and specific action plan to use as a basis for their skill development through the rest of the module. Reflective learning and postgraduate study skills (15%)– these should be visible throughout the report. Students should demonstrate that they have been able to use these skills to assist them with both their assessment of self and CPD and development planning. Theoretical underpinning and academic referencing (15%) – again this should be visible throughout the report with consideration of relevant academic literature and theoretical concepts being used to support points made. This would include material relevant to reflective practice; self-assessment; CPD and development planning, as well as that relating to each of the specific skill areas they have chosen to focus on moving forward. Accurate Harvard referencing must be used throughout. Report format The report should be produced using Word with appendices included in the main body of the document. The following sections must be included. •Contents Page •Main report •Bibliography •Appendices including action plan There is no fixed format for the main report to allow students flexibility to structure this themselves. A logical format is expected however with use of headings to separate main parts of the report. Appendices: A minimum of 8 additional appendices (i.e not including the action plan) are required which should provide a portfolio of evidence to support your report. Only appendices which are referred to in the body of the report should be included. Evidence can include a number of forms but would be expected to include evidence of the use of self-assessment tools and inventories, reflective learning/writing, and evidence of the consideration of the perspectives of others informing your development i.e. feedback. Appendices fall outside the word limit. ASSESSMENT COMPONENT TWO (50%). The focus of Component two is the progress you have made in putting your development plan (or revised plan) into action and progressing your skills of reflection, postgraduate study skills and in your chosen skill areas. You are required to produce a reflective learning statement in which you discuss your learning in these areas. Relevant academic and theoretical material should be integrated throughout with use of accurate Harvard referencing. Again, the learning statement must be supported by appendices providing evidence of your approach throughout the period. The Learning statement (3000 words +/10% excluding appendices and bibliography) The action plan should be included in the appendices and does not form part of the word limit. This should include: Evidence of appropriate skill development (50%) – A concise summary of skills development needs should be included at the beginning of the report. It is expected that usually these would be the skill areas identified in Component One. It may be possible that between assignments it has been necessary to change these however, either due to a change of circumstances or due to feedback received from Component One. As a guide it is suggested that students choose no more than three skills areas to focus on. Of these at least one must be drawn from LO3 and one from LO4. You should then discuss your development in your chosen skills areas demonstrating evidence of learning and progress. Discussion should include evidence of a proactive approach to development and reflection on the development activities undertaken. Draw on examples and experience from the workplace, the skills workshops, other modules; voluntary activities etc. as appropriate. The statement should make clear links to evidence provided in the appendices. Reflective learning and postgraduate study skills (20%) – The development of the skill of a reflective practitioner is regarded as essential for ongoing career development and learning. Students are expected to discuss their development of this skill demonstrating both ongoing engagement with reflective practice and analysis and discussion of progress. As part of the learning statement you are also required to provide evidence of engagement with feedback and the views and opinions of others to inform learning. This could include feedback provided on Component One of the assignment. Theoretical underpinning and academic referencing (20%) – It is important that relevant theoretical concepts are integrated into discussion throughout the learning statement and that students demonstrate the ability to practically relate and critically evaluate theory in the light of their own experiences and analysis of development. Insights gained from theory should be integrated into development planning and inform development throughout the period. Continuous Professional Development (10%) – Evidence is required of on-going engagement with cpd throughout the course and in planning for the future. This will include a considered and appropriate approach taken to drawing conclusions about progress made and identifying next steps for skill development following the programme. This should culminate in the production of a skills development action plan with logical objectives and evidence of “SMARTness”. Learning Statement format The learning statement should be produced using Word with appendices included in the main body of the document. The following sections must be included. •Contents Page •Main report •Bibliography •Appendices including action plan. There is no fixed format for the main report to allow students flexibility to structure this themselves. A logical format is expected however with use of headings to separate main parts of the report Appendices: A minimum of 8 new appendices (in addition to the action plan and not those used for Component One) are required which should provide a portfolio of evidence to support your report. Only appendices which are referred to in the body of the report should be included. Evidence can include a number of forms but would be expected to include reflective learning/writing, and evidence of the consideration of the perspectives of others informing your development i.e. feedback. Appendices fall outside the word limit. Please see detailed marking criteria on the files i uploaded
