How has the poet managed, or arranged, his or her poem?

Choose any poem from this week’s selections (not Langston Hughes). In your main post, provide the author and title of the poem. Then, apply the SPIDER method (summarized below). In a unified response, address each of the six parts of the SPIDER method below as it relates to the poem you chose: S: Scenario. What is the scenario (situation)? Does your poem have characters, or a setting? P: Purpose. What seems to be the poem’s purpose, or central message/theme? What is is about? I: Imagery. What are some specific images the poem mentions? What is memorable about them? D: Diction. Look at the word choices the author makes. Point out a specific word or phrase that you found interesting, jarring, or remarkable.E: Economy. How has the poet managed, or arranged, his or her poem? Hint: this is a good place to define and discuss the specific poetic form (sonnet, villanelle, haiku, etc) of the poem you chose. R: Rhythm. Is there a rhyme scheme at all? Is the rhythm significant? How does the poem’s rhythm suggest its tone? Your initial thread should be three paragraphs in length (200+ words) and provide textual evidence. You should provide at least one direct quote from the source formatted in MLA Style.
