You can use the CNN article, and the willingham, rosen and rakove explanations of why the 2nd amendment is wide open to interpretation. you can look at dc v. heller and mcdonald v chicago as a starting point for how the court started to shift the meaning, and then . . . bring in last year’s supreme court decision – New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v Bruen. basically, new york required that anyone who wanted to carry a concealed handgun outside the home to show ‘proper cause’ for the license. a person had to have a legitimate reason.
