So follow the document and be sure to look over the required readings as some sort of evidence to substantiate the arguments being made. Since this essay requires 2-4 texts, below is the original post that I made regarding the 2-4 texts. Feel free to simply use my original post and expand or make it into a cohesive 6-page essay. Original Post:Three influential texts that come to my mind are The True Story of Ah Q by Lu Xun, The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan, and How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie. Of all the literatures I have done so far, I find a different taste in the writing of Lu Xun, particularly his profound masterpiece titled The True Story of Ah Q. Lu Xun, as a famous thinker in China, was often credited for his democratic style of thinking, particularly his determined attitude toward using literature as a way to capture the essence of reality. By that, Lu Xun’s works have done a great job at breaking the barrier of literature, making it as somewhat lively to reflect the present. Lu Xun’s works successfully influenced my writing, because it helps me understand that literatures are powerful, that they are not merely words. Therefore, I would always ensure that my writing has meaning and purpose in it. Amy Tan’s work also highly impacted my writing, specifically my style of narrative writing. Through Amy Tan’s work, I was able to discover the magic of writing in recapturing the different scenes and memories in my life. No longer are writings only limited to academia. Perhaps, writing could be vivid, reflective and narrative. The last text that strongly impacted my writing is How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie. For me, this book is rather a mentor than a skimming book. This book reinforces the significance of stepping in the toes of others. I find this message particularly useful in writing, because a piece literature, particularly those that are argumentative, should not be limited to only one’s thoughts. In fact, a strong and articulative argumentative writing should capture differing thoughts, so that the full context could be established. Nonetheless, I believe these three texts have had significant impacts in my writing.
