Social distancing and the general unknown nature of this disease is causing more health care professionals to perform virtual visits, and some patients enjoy this because it allows them to receive care without physically being in a medical facility and allows care at their convenience. Your health system is experiencing an increase in primary care virtual visits from 10% to 85%. This may seem like a good shift from an expense, labor and plant operations perspective however, displaced staff working in the closed medical office buildings belong to various labor unions and are guaranteed a minimum of 20 hours per week.Using what you’ve learned, describe what elements are necessary to ensure this shift is sustainable and meets all regulatory requirements.
