Kristi House partners with multiple agencies known as a Multidisciplinary Team. The agencies in the Multidisciplinary Team comprise of the State Attorney’s Office, The Child Protection Team ( founded on the University Of Miami Campus), The Department of Children and Families (DCF), Jackson Hospital, and the local Police Department.While Kristi House is involved in organizing the multidisciplinary team on child sexual abuse cases, they are also helping with the trauma that the abuse cause. Offering therapy as a resource to the children and the families to overcome the trauma of the abuse that they have experienced. Kristi House has a goal to eradicate child abuse and child sex trafficking. Kristi house is the only Child Advocacy Center in Miami Dade County and the state of Florida and they are recognized nationally. Kristi House is responsible for organizing child victims and families with help from legal, medical, and social services from the multiple agencies that they partner with. Kristi House now has 4 locations across Miami, with the main location being in the Health District. The main facility is located where many families are facing socio-economical challenges. This area is high in unemployment, high cases in STDs, teenage pregnancy, and children with many different types of trauma. Kristi House could incorporate a few outcomes to the programs to help the main goal of protecting children. Providing a way to get recognize the signs of abuse and what to do when you are put in that situation can decrease the amount of abuse cases. Bringing attention on greater scale to the seriousness of sex trafficking within schools. With students being aware of their surroundings can help keep them safe.
