CImagine being an Athletics Director at two ‘types’ of institution (Texas A&M and Syracuse University)(1 page per institution) and consider how the current COVID-19 crisis has impacted on the financial status and security of those institutions – you are welcome to use actual examples if you wish (e.g. BGSU cutting baseball, etc.). Make sure to draw from academic theory to underpin your work. Consider how two different institutions (Syracuse University and Texas A&M) are being affected or impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. (Search through their social media channels, they ran a big fundraising campaign to support those athletes who are returning for a fifth year of eligibility… and they fell short of their target)… IF there is a reduced or NO football season in the Fall, what impact might that have? What about impact on other revenue sources… playing sport but with no fans for example? What about these schools who are cutting sports all together? How can institutions at the two levels you have chosen recover… if they even do?
